3rd Year Blogging Anniversary

On Monday I will be closing in on my 3rd year of blogging. When I first started I really wasn't sure how far this may go or what it may turn into. To date this blog has had a total of 28,718 visits averaging between 100-200/day closer to 200/day lately and I currently have 141 followers. Not sure exactly why.....I'm truly not a writer. My high school grammar teacher would probably cringe at the sight of my punctuation and grammar. Maybe it is the critters or Maine Man?

Any Hoo, I have had a lot of fun documenting our nutty lives here in cyberland and I think the responses I get here in my comments and in the community keep me motivated. So I guess what I am getting at is THANK YOU to all who read and enjoy. THANK YOU for ALL for the positive feedback. THANKS to my brother who points things out like mispelling or misuse of words. Ha, he is my biggest critic here.

So in celebrating this anniversary I have TWO requests.

#1 I really want a rename. Remember way back when I requested help in naming John. Angie came up with Maine Man. It stuck and I love it.....not sure if he does or just tolerates like many of the other things I do ;)
So I want a rename. I initially went with Country Girl because it just popped into my head. But there is several of us out there and I just want something different, unique, something that fits. So suggestions, anyone, everyone :) Let's hear it! HELP

#2 Leave a comment. I would LOVE to hear just ONCE from all you silent readers. And for all you non-bloggers it is EASY. Just go under anonymous and comment that way.

For EVERYONE that leaves a comment, something, anything I will put your name in a drawing for a little something from Maine. Not sure what, if you have a request (maple syrup...whatever within reason) write that in too. If your a local it can be more specific like a baked good, couple dozen farm fresh eggs and I'll even deliver.
On a final Note, Thanks Kimberly for being one of my most faithful followers. Don't forget to tell Booker you too are now famous. Love You All!

I am recent new comer but have enjoyed reading. I am also new to blogging, I wonder if I will still be doing it in 3 years? We shall see. Loved seeing all the Johnny seed packets I just got all mine in the mail today. I too have spring fever. Sorry I have no name suggestions at the moment but I will keep you in mind.

Happy 3rd Anniversary, Kim!! I've learned a lot from your blog (just used your wreath-making tutorial in December again!) and I'm sure glad you're out there. :-)
I'll think on your new nickname, but I'm actually quite fond of "country girl" ... :-)

I've been checking in for awhile now. I live in the city (right next to Boston) and I guess I just am curious about country life, so that's why I'm a 'follower'. Happy 3 Year Anniversary!

I've just been reading for a few weeks, but have enjoyed your posts and pictures! I live on a homestead in Virginia and am always interested in the lives of like-minded souls. :-)

I comment occasionally, but I am a regular reader. Give me some time to ponder a new name for ya.

Happy Blogiversary! I always enjoy your posts, even if you make me feel woefully inadequate and lazy. :)

Rename: Maine Woman? Maine Lady?

Congratulations on 3 years! I´ve been reading your blog for about 3 months. It came to me from a friend when you posted about the chicken plucker. We´ve only been in the country and farming for about a year and I find a lot of parallel interests, experiences and tips in what you post. I blog on iweb although I like the photo capability of blogspot. Thanks for all you are sharing. I hope the books come out nicely of your previous years!

I'm not sure I can support your idea for a name change!! I have followed you for almost two years and you are Country Girl from Achorn Farm. But one name jumped out at me to go along with your Maine Man. How about Maine Mama, or some variation of that?

ps I vote for status quo!!!!

Congratulations Kim and MM, I can't think of anything snappy right now, and I kinda like Achorn Farm and Country Girl!

3 years is a long time!!

Happy Anniversary! I am not sure about a name. It's always so hard to come up with good names. Maybe something along the lines of your ancestry... for instance if you were french, then 'french country girl" or 'french cowgirl".
Love your blog!

Happy blogiversary! I try to keep up with all the blogs that I follow, but I have trouble commenting back on even my own blog. People read your blog because it's interesting. For me, I find it neat to see how people deal with trying to farm in different places and the ways they come up with to adapt. Sometimes I find ideas that hadn't occured to me but make so much sense that I have to try them.

3 years! Congrats! I'm heading in on just a year now and when I started I didn't even know why I was starting. I guess I still don't know what I'm doing! Mostly I just love connecting with like-minded people! And I think it makes me more mindful of how I spend my days.

Congrats on your 3 years! Your blog is a very practicle and a fun place to visit. I enjoy reading about your critters, what your children are up to and how they are so happy in their life, and what MM has created for your life. Keep it up girly. As far as a name I am not creative. I can't wait to hear what it is though.

I've been following your blog for some time and enjoy it very much. I love to read about others with critters as I am planning on getting chickens, goats and possibly a couple of beef for our own meat. Can't wait for Spring to come either. Congrats on your anniversary.

Happy Anniversary from Australia! Been reading for about 12 months now on the quiet. No prizes please - just saying hello.

don't change anything, names are already catchy and superb.

can anyone verify the whole story is not a fantasy, and author is not a divorced childless lone in her mid40ties? :)

Happy anniversary! I've been a pretty regular reader for about 6 months or so, but am usually quiet on the commenting. No broadband at home, so I try to limit my blog time at work to just reading!

Anyway, thanks from a fellow Mainah (currently in Bowdoin) for a peek into the life of a local farm family. All the best for 2010!

Congrats on 3 years! Yours was one of the first blogs I started reading on a regular basis when I joined blogland - and yours is the only blog my husband reads ever. :-)

Congrats on three years. I love Maine and reading about your adventures. Although from your perspective they may not seem like adventures, thanks anyway. A new name, how about Country WoMaine, dorky I know, but it just came to me.

Congrats on your 3rd year! It has been fun reading all about your adventures.
A rename for you...hmmm...how about Maine Mom? You use MM for Maine Man, then you can use MMM for Maine MoM.
