Drinking Water

Are you tired of buying water? I am! We are looking into buying a water distiller. Just curious as to what others do? Do you or anyone you know own a water distiller? If so, how many gallon? Where did you purchase? Would you go that route to do it again? I have also heard a bit about reverse osmosis filters??? Any advice appreciated!

We rent a Reverse Osmosis water system from Culligan, it costs us less than $18 a month and we can use all the water we want. They come and service it, change the filter, and we don't have to worry about it at all. Just fill up a gallon jug whenever it's empty.

We can easily drink 1-2 gallons of water a day here. No bringing jugs to the store or any of that hassle. So worth it for us!

We buy drinking water and we have a Brita filter. We have a filter type water system at our church and we refill the jugs every so often.

Thanks Erica & Amy for your responses. Your info helps. I'd hope I had more feedback but I guess bad water is not an issue as for many as I thought.

I was hoping you'd have more feedback, too. I'm tired of buying water! I drink our tap water, which is just okay. My husband will not, so I have to buy water. We have a local spring that offers a home service where they deliver every so often, but I haven't checked into it, yet.

This spring we bought a Big Berkey Water Filter. It's not cheap, but after replacing several faucet mounted filters, we decided that the expense was worth it to have good tasting drinking water. And I like that it can also be used in emergency situations to filter rain water.

What is wrong with drinking tap water? Until you have lived in FL and had sulfur water (smells and tastes like eggs) my well water tastes like heaven. We had a reverse osmosis filter at the kitchen sink in FL. It worked great. I refuse to buy water. The plastic is a waste and the water comes from their tap.

I live in WNY state and our water is sulfer, while our neighbor a stone's throw away has good water. We use Brita pitcher in the frig and buy some bottles. Not as many as we used to. We had our element in the hot water heater replaced this spring (why is it I'm always the one who gets that last frigid shower before he comes to fix it?!) he was supposed to get us some info and $$ on something for our well water to be better...still waiting. :o) I'd like better water, but I really don't relish one more thing to maintain..
