A couple weeks ago the whole gang including Dolly went on a mission to cut a Christmas tree off the back forty.
We spotted the perfect one for us!
Then our hero, Maine Man cut it down!
Much more fun then going to buy one. The remains will be used as firewood.
Thankful for the land we have and all that it provides for us.

Did you prune this tree in preparation for its destiny. I keep forgetting to give a few Balsams room to get nice.

Years ago, on my uncle's farm in Gray, we also cut down a huge tree with the perfect Christmas tree on top. What an adventure! And the tree lasted(lived) forever!! My 'husband' made me take it down after Valentine's Day!! It even had started growing new pine/fir cones.
