I am quite sure "jacking worms" is a Maine saying. I have been previously asked what it was so I googled it and didn't come up with one thing. Hmmm, maybe this post will clarify it ;)
Every Spring Maine Man and the kids go out on rainy nights
about 1/2 hour after dark armed with flash lights in search of night crawlers.

They are very fast! Flower Girl had a hard time getting them last year but this Spring she is the master worm gatherer.

Ha ha!! Awesome how they are going at it. Jacking worms...that's a new phrase I'll have to figure out how to slip into conversations!
Doesn't everyone know about jacking worms? hehehehe ;-)
THEY ARE DOING GOOD PM. THEY HAVE OVER 20 DOZ FOR SALE AND JUST GOT A BUNCH MORE THE LAST COUPLE NIGHTS.

I GOOGLED "JACKING WORMS" AND GUESS WHAT COMES UP AS THE FIRST LISTING, THIS POST. LOL!
I have never heard of jacking worms...interesting.
I've caught night crawlers before but haven't heard of Jacking worms. Hmm... something new.

Those crawlers are huge! Your kids are in heaven. How often do kids hear an adult tell them to get out your flashlight cuz we're going out in the rain to catch stuff so we can make money.
Your photos are really nice.
My brother was a great nightcrawler catcher!
I want them for my garden! Now I'll never be able to get my kids out of the rain...PERFECT! Worm-jacking!
I'm watching Anthony Bourdain and he's eating his way through Maine so I thought of you.
I just had to post a quick hello! I grew up in Maine and was just seeing what came up on google for "jacking worms" and found this thread. I live in Utah now but will never forget my Maine roots and just finished jacking 3 dozen crawlers for fishing in the morning!! But nothing compares to fishing back home, I'm just glad I decided to pick it up again for the first time in 15 years.
