Making Memories

We took a ride on the back forty and found the MOST BEAUTIFUL TREE in the WORLD!
(our world that is)
Then the kids and I took cover.

and....TIMBER

The first Christmas Tree to be cut off the farm

by our sweet Maine Man

2 Very Happy kiddos!

Then over the hills and through the woods we went.....

back to the farm.

To do our favorite yearly tradition.
Dad puts on the lights.

Followed by the kids decorating with lots of ornaments. Many that they have made in years past.

While jamming to Christmas music.

And a whole lot of horsing around!

Looks like fun, and how neat to find a tree on your own property.

We tagged one at my friend's tree farm in October and it was cut and waiting for us this weekend. It is up in the living room in the stand with lights, but that's it. I'm letting the branches relax while I sort through and decide the decorations box location...Things sort of got mixed together last year. Maybe I'll do better this January!!

HC Mama, So good to hear from you girl. It has been so long! Glad to see your up and blogging again even though it is private. We have come a long ways here. Hope to be able to follow your journey when you start farming. Good luck with your last tour. How are the girls? Merry Christmas to you!

I love all the pictures!

You have such a beautiful family.

BTW, a jigger is 1.5 ounces and is a bartending measurement.

Blessings!

Oh, WHAT a wonderful day! I had to laugh because though our outings were very similar...YOU came home with a beauty of a tree, and WE came home with a spindly little Charlie Brown version. Not that we're complaining...that will just be another of the memories.

Happy snowstorm! Hope you are cozy!

I've never gotten a tree that way. It looks like such fun! I love that picture of the lights going up—beautiful.

I enjoyed reading about you and your family making such a great memory. I am sure all of the great things you do with your kids will add up to hundreds and thousands of memories of little things that you will hear your children tell their children.

Yea for you!
