Read?What prompted this post? This Spring when school was getting out I was asked by several people what I had planned for the kids this summer. What activities had I signed them up for?
My response was, "NOTHING". We had a great summer despite the lack of "planning". In some aspects of life I am a planner but in many I am not. I believe that kids will make their own paths if you foster their dreams and interests rather then force upon them.

Wonderful! Love the great pics. I'm a firm believer in kids doing "nothing" over the summer. During the school year it's go-go-go and do-do-do. Summers that are unplanned and simply unfold before you make a lifetime of memories. Your kids are very lucky!!
ReplyDeleteYeah, and it frustrates me when the ex thinks that having nothing to do means they can go with him and do stuff. No, NOTHING is good..veg out time, relax or explore, chill and regroup. I picked that activity, just like you pick going and going and going... I always enjoyed Friday veg night in the winter with work done for the week, a fire in the fireplace, and some comfort food...With High School sports, that has temporarily gone by the way side, but we catch it going by sometimes and enjoy it.
