It's the simple things.....

Exploring their surroundings.

Kids being kids

The kids have a cabin above the shed. It is equiped with chairs, tables, radio and they even just
put up some curtains that we acquired through the tote. It is a great place for them to get away even on a rainy and/or windy day.

  1. Great post. I do agree with the simple things in life are what make it great. Our kids are the greatest pleasure we have in this life. I really love the was they look at everything so bright eyed and inquisitive. They are such a joy to watch and enjoy. Once again great simple post.

  2. I love it! That is part of the reason we moved out to the country. I wanted the kids to have the experiences ALL kids should have! I wanted them to run, play and just be kids. I wanted them to understand and know God through nature and respect it.

    What a fun post!

  3. It is great when kids can be kids. I hate video games and TV. The should be outside making memories. My kids are 30 and 28 and still talk about "old" times when they would climb pine trees, bend them and cross from one tree to the next. In FL we have tall thin saplings that bend easily. Thank God I didn't know about that. LOL

  4. I like this group of simple things! (You know what's funny, I thought at first someone was lowering a raw chicken from a window, but then I read your caption!) Your kids look like they are really enjoying life! I am relieved to know that even though your kids are older than mine, they still seem to really enjoy the simple pleasures of exploring outdoors. Sometimes I worry that as kids get older they start gravitating towards other things and then I think, "Hmm, I wonder how much time we have left before they don't enjoy wandering in the woods anymore?" But then I find so much evidence like this post that older kids still appreciate nature and it makes me happy!

  6. Those pictures speak for themselves, and speak to how important it is to just *be* and enjoy and soak in the world around. Very lucky your children are.
