Missing Maggie

The other night we went up the road to our friends that have a nice little gathering place on the river. There we met a dog named Maisey. She reminded us so much of Maggie. Check the video, it's a hoot!
After that night I have no doubt that we will some day be owners of a sweet little lab again. I wipe tears away as I write this. If you are a new reader click here to read about our beloved dog Mag of 15 years.

Conversation overheard a couple days after our trip to the river.

Leah: Let's do the wish bone
crack
Leah: What did you wish for Luke
Luke: To get another dog like Mag again

  1. I'd say it's time. Although I'm always game for a new puppy.

  2. We went through that last year with our beloved Belle. We only held out two weeks, and brought our new guy home. After the newness wore off a little we scrutinized his papers and found out he was a great-great nephew of Belle. He reminded us of her from the get-go and we thought we were just being too sentimental (heavy on the mental here) but he really is a lot like her and has contributed to our healing. We still miss her, but time marches on.
I agree with Goatgirl, it's time Kim.

Kim, I shed tears while reading about Maggie. I love my dogs and I can understand how tough it was for you and your family.

  6. I, too, lost a beloved dog after 15 years (he was 16), a dalmation/pit bull mix. It's been 3 years since I lost him and just now have I been thinking of adopting another dalmation.
